Your Story Matters 🧡🖤
Today, our students had the privilege of hearing Cory Greenwood share his impactful message, "Your Story Matters". He connected with every grade level, addressing the importance of mental health and providing real-life examples to help students who may be struggling. His words encouraged our students to embrace their stories, find strength in challenges, and support one another.
Cory reminded us that:
😁 One great big smile...
🥰 One random act of kindness...
🫶 One kind word...
✅ One decision...
💫 One nice moment...
🌎 ..That is how you change the world.
Thank you, Cory, for your honesty, energy, and inspiration!

Whitehall Middle School and High School Bands traveled to The Pablo Center at The Confluence in downtown Eau Claire on Tuesday.
They attended the UW – Eau Claire Concert Band Festival, a non-competitive event where bands perform on the RCU Theatre stage!
Each band receives written and verbal feedback from UW – Eau Claire Band Faculty, and a 30-minute clinic. All students were in the audience for other bands also participating in the event.
Our bands each performed three selections followed by a clinic experience with Dr. Phillip Ostrander. He is the Professor of Trombone and Bands at the University of Wisconsin - Eau Claire where he conducts the Symphony Band, teaches private trombone, and trombone ensemble. Dr. Ostrander completed his doctoral studies at the Eastman School of Music.
A wonderful educational experience for all of us!

Mr. Fields’ favorite unit did not disappoint! 🐺📖
Our 7th grade students went wild with their Call of the Wild projects in ELA! They stepped into Buck’s paws, writing heartfelt letters from his perspective, and created incredible Character Analysis One-Pagers to showcase his journey.
Mr. Fields was blown away by their creativity and effort—way to go, everyone! Keep up the great work as we head into Trimester 3! 💪✨

🟢🍳🐖Would you eat them here or there?
🟢🍳🐖Would you eat them anywhere?
In honor of Dr. Seuss Day, our kitchen crew is serving up a new breakfast! Along with our classic scrambled eggs with ham, we’re adding a fun twist—Green Eggs and Ham! 💚🍳
Don't worry, they taste just the same 😁🫣😵💫

🎭🎼The cast of ANNIE is working hard on singing, dancing and acting as we near their performance of the spring musical!

Here are some highlights from their practice on March 2!

Food Truck Completion
Our junior high students served up a delicious lineup at this Tri 2 Food Truck Competition from Mrs. Busselman's family and consumer science class! From strawberry shortcake to asada tacos, bacon-wrapped ribeye with cornbread and green beans, cinnamon cupcakes, and the unique tanghulu, the creativity was impressive to see! 👩🍳👨🍳
🥇 Congratulations to the winners! 🥇
🏆 Bacon-wrapped ribeye with cornbread and green beans and cinnamon cupcakes took the top spots, but every dish was absolutely delicious!
Our judges—Mrs. Vold, Mr. Fischer, and of course, Mr. L—definitely had their work cut out for them! 🍴🔥

Shout out to the kitchen for the marble cake treat! 🍰 🍰 They were ALMOST too pretty to frost...
Our friend Cheyenne approves, and we’re not complaining either!

🌟 Happy National School Counselor Week! 🌟
Today, we celebrate Bethany Bown, our amazing elementary school counselor, who plays a vital role in supporting our students' well-being and success every day! 🧡🍎Bethany wears many hats to ensure our students thrive:
📚 Wellness Class – She teaches all students about friendships, coping skills, managing emotions, and problem-solving.
🤝 Individual Counseling – She meets one-on-one with students to help them navigate challenges like grief, adjusting to change, and emotional regulation.
👥 Small Group Counseling – She leads small groups that focus on shared goals, offering extra support in areas like social skills and emotional growth.
🌎 Leave Your Mark Leadership Group – She empowers students to give back to the community through fundraising and leadership projects, like the Col Larson Park Project and St. Jude’s.
📝 504 Case Manager – She ensures students with unique learning needs receive the accommodations they need to succeed.
Bethany’s impact reaches far beyond the classroom—she’s a mentor, a supporter, and a champion for every student. Join us in thanking her for her dedication and compassion! 🧡👏

🌟As we continue to celebrate the incredible impact school counselors have on students' success, what better time to introduce the newest member of our Whitehall counseling team! 🌟🎉
Meet Mrs. Maija Thompson (pronounced My-ya, the J is silent😉), our new Middle School & High School Counselor. She’s excited to support and guide our students, and we’re thrilled to welcome her to the Whitehall community!
💡 Here are some fun facts about Mrs. Thompson:
✅ She grew up as the only girl in a blended family with four older brothers—now life has come full circle with her own blended family of four boys and one girl! 👨👩👧👦
✅ She was born and raised in Eau Claire, WI, where she still lives today. 🌳
✅ Some people run on coffee—Mrs. Thompson runs on Dr. Pepper! 🥤😆
✅ While she didn’t grow up in Whitehall, she’s related to many in the community or has a connection in some way—so chances are, you might already know her!
Please join us in giving Mrs. Thompson a warm Whitehall welcome! 🤗🧡
